2013 PERFORMERS
Honeyboy Edwards & Louisiana Red Tribute
Louisiana Red lived the Blues through his guitar and his singing. Strongly influenced by Muddy Waters, Lightnin‘ Hopkins and Arthur Crudup, he found his own voice, his own style, & his own form of expression. In a career spanning over half a century, Louisiana Red played with just about every major bluesman you can name, some of the most memorable encounters being his jams with B.B.King and Muddy Waters. In 1983 he won a W.C. Handy Award as best traditional blues artist. Red was part of the 2011 T-Bone and scheduled to return for this year. Honeyboy Edward was an icon in the world of music and part of our T-Bone family. Honeyboy graced our stages in 2009 & 2010. One week prior to his third performance, he had to cancel due to health issues.
Rocky Lawrence and Michael Frank were close friends to both and will do a tribute set to both of these blues icons.
